Before Melissa returned, before restoration, and before the present build took fuller form, Shepherds of Good Hope stood as one of the human structures that helped keep Jacques alive. In a season of near-nothing, when survival itself was under pressure and the system was not properly meeting basic needs, Shepherds of Good Hope helped hold the line. That is not pity, not performance, and not charity language for appearance. That is truth.
